Matrix Communications was founded in 1985 by Charlie Eicher and Mike Ellis and was primarily focused on business phone systems. In 1995 they created Network Design, Inc. as a union labor low-voltage and premise security organization focused on structured cabling, national multi-site rollouts, and data center design and deployment. In 2019 Matrix Communications and Network Design, Inc. became known as Matrix-NDI, blending business phone systems and cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions into one.
