Flippin’ 5k for Team Brax 1 Fund (TB1F)

This month Matrix-NDI is a sponsor for the 1st annual “Flippin’ 5k” for the Team Brax 1 Fund (TB1F). The 5k will be on Nov. 16, 2019 at the Elm Creek Preserve in Maple Grove, MN. Check in will begin at 7:30am at the Twin City Twisters Gymnastics center in Champlin, MN, and the family fun run/walk will begin at 9:00am at the Elm Creek Preserve. Following the family fun run/walk there will be open gym at Twin City Twisters from 10:30-11:30am. TB1F’s mission is to positively effect all children who come through the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Braxton knows how challenging, both mentally and physically, recovering from cancer is, and wants to help others going through the same fight. About Braxton

Braxton (aka Brax) is a 9-year-old girl with a passion for gymnastics. In January of 2019 she was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (B-Cell ALL). She is currently in remission with an end of chemo date for May 28, 2021. Over the past 10 months she has spent 75+ nights on floor 5 of the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. Brax felt as though she was very lucky to have a family that was able to support her treatment process both mentally, and financially. Throughout this experience she has developed a strong desire to help make sure that every child battling cancer feels supported, just as she did. Her and her family know first-hand how difficult the treatment process is, so they created TB1F to help families who struggle with finding the proper resources, support and financial aid.

About Childhood Cancer

Childhood cancers are rare, and more aggressive than adult cancers. Treatment for childhood-cancer requires a team of specially-trained doctors from various specialties. This ranges from pediatric surgical sub-specialists, to oncology physicians, to rehabilitation therapists.
