Q1 Technician Spotlight: Don Tinsley (Clone)

Our 2020 first quarter tech spotlight is Donald (Don) Tinsley! He has been an amazing field technician for Matrix-NDI for almost 11 years now. We are excited to share some fun facts about him and are so grateful to have such a great technician on our team.


  1. Where were you born / where did you grow up?  Minneapolis, I went to Osseo Highschool
  2. When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up? A Guitar Player
  3. What is your favorite sports team (any league)? Minnesota Vikings
  4. Have you ever played a sport, or been in a music/art based club? Metal bands: Cromlech and Black Flood Diesel
  5. Favorite beverage (alcohol or non-alcohol) Any Micro-brew
  6. Least favorite beverage (alcohol or non-alcohol) – why? Tea – all of it, hot or cold. It’s nasty
  7. What was the first vehicle you ever had? Chrysler Laberon 1978 - brown
  8. What is your #1 hobby outside of work? I enjoy music, cooking/BBQ, and spending time with Patty- my partner of 18 blissful years.
  9. What is your all-time favorite movie? Big Lebowski
  10. Do you have any pets? I have 3 Jack Russell Terriers (all rescues): Henry, Katie, and Anna
  11. What is your biggest pet peeve? Fake or insincere people
  12. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Alaska and Hawaii are my favorites so far and I would love to go back to both of them.
  13. What are you currently watching on TV? Breaking Bad was the last show I was “in to”
  14. Apple or Android? Android
  15. Best concert or show you ever attended It’s a toss-up between Tool and Rush
  16. Who inspires you (family, friend, musician, politician, actor, activist, etc.)? Alex Skolnik - guitar player from Testament. That is my main musical influence
  17. Would you consider yourself introverted or extroverted? Extroverted
  18. What's your favorite thing about working at Matrix-NDI? The comradery and great people around me.
  19. How long have you worked for Matrix-NDI? I am going on 11 years now!
